The CGI scripts improperly process user-supplied input passed to the ttcp_ip parameter without sanitization, allowing unauthenticated attackers to inject shell commands. This vulnerability was reported to be exploited in the wild by the \"TheMoon\" worm  in 2014 to deploy a MIPS ELF payload, enabling arbitrary code execution on the router. Additionally, this vulnerability may affect other Linksys products to include, but not limited to, WAG/WAP/WES/WET/WRT-series router models and Wireless-N access points and routers. Exploitation evidence was observed by the Shadowserver Foundation on 2025-02-06 UTC.","cvss_version":"4.0","cvss_vector":"CVSS:4.0/AV:N/AC:L/AT:N/PR:N/UI:N/VC:H/VI:H/VA:H/SC:H/SI:H/SA:H/E:X/CR:X/IR:X/AR:X/MAV:X/MAC:X/MAT:X/MPR:X/MUI:X/MVC:X/MVI:X/MVA:X/MSC:X/MSI:X/MSA:X/S:X/AU:X/R:X/V:X/RE:X/U:X","base_score":10.0,"base_severity":"CRITICAL","attack_vector":"NETWORK","privileges_req":"NONE","user_interaction":"NONE","scope":"CHANGED","impact_c":"HIGH","impact_i":"HIGH","impact_a":"HIGH","cwe_ids":["CWE-78"],"in_kev":false,"kev_date_added":null,"kev_ransomware":false,"epss_score":0.96154,"epss_percentile":0.99877,"cap_rule_version":"0.1.1","stage":"INITIAL_ACCESS","req_access":"NONE","req_vector":"NETWORK","req_user_interaction":false,"grant_access":"PRIV","caps":["CODE_EXEC","PRIV_GAIN"],"terminal":false,"cap_confidence":"high","ingested_at":"2026-10-07T06:38:00.484672+00:00","first_seen":"2025-06-24T01:15:25.037000+00:00","kev_first_seen":null,"novelty_score":0.0,"novelty_reasons":[],"novelty_at":null,"vendors":[],"products":[],"affected":[]}
